Looking for Durability? Powder Coating is Best Option

Powder coating is the best choice, if you are looking for a hard protective coating that is tough and resistant to abrasion. You get your exact shade of color, finish and thickness. The volatile organic compounds are near zero and the over spray is totally recycled. The powder coating booths are therefore cheaper automotive paint booth both in capital and operating costs. As an adjunct to your automotive paint booth it’s a good idea to install powder coating booths since automobile extrusions and other components are normally powder coated for durability. The process of coating in a powder booth starts with degreasing and surface preparation. The prepared articles are next powder coated using an electrostatic gun. The powder coated articles move on a conveyor belt inside the conveyor oven where the articles are cured at 425 F and the surplus powder is recovered for reuse in the recovery booth. The ovens use fuzzy logic and have a touch screen operation.

Modern Robotically Controlled Spray Booth

The industrial spray booths encompass airplane booths and production tunnels. The airplane booths can accommodate any aircraft from a small two-seat airplane to a jumbo jet or a USAF fighter aircraft. Production tunnels on the other hand cater to all types of products that need to be spray painted, powder coated or composite coated among others. The tunnel comprises of a surface preparation section, an automatic spray booth and a robotically controlled conveyor oven. In the surface preparation section the articles are blasted and washed or rinsed with agents and dried. In the spray or powder booth section, the articles are either painted or powder coated using electrostatic process for the coat. The articles next move on to the conveyor oven for the baking operation. Curing is at 425 F by the oven that has a high temperature plug blower and a high temperature variable exhaust besides fully automatic controls.
