The relatively hard coating of a powder-coated product compared to a painted product and the production of the exact shade of the finish and color are some of the reasons of the popularity of the powder booth over the spray booth. Lower capital and running costs, wide range of thickness, extremely low volatile organic compounds and almost 100% utilization of the raw material are also the reasons why powder coating booths greatly improve product value.
Despite the fact that you can go in for a much thicker coat in the case of powder coating, there is no sagging or running which surely would have been true in the case of a normal paint coat.
A modern powder booth has a conveyor system that runs the products through the preparation section - involving blasting, washing, rinsing and drying. The prepared articles are powder-coated via an electrostatic mechanism and then baked in a conveyor oven.
